Roland VQD106 Electronic Drum Kit

Up front, I decided to replace the VQD106 hi hat and cymbals with components from the TD-17, so I am only reviewing the VQD106 kick pad, snare and toms and rack. They are all terrific. I'm a beginner so not that demanding, but, previously with a TD-07 kit my wife was hearing the tapping on the pads through the wall and I was afraid I would drive her crazy. With the VQD106 kick/snare/toms she doesn't hear me at all, so I can play any time without worrying! I think the responsiveness is fine, but again, I'm a beginner so keep that in mind. The rack is good - the snare shakes a bit when I play but it hasn't bothered me. I'm very happy with the purchase.

I recently bought the Roland VQD106 because I could not use my VAD kit in a a 3rd floor apartment. I wasn't sure if it would work at first but right away I noticed how quiet it was. I have had no complaints from neighbors and am happy I can continue to play.

The set does take time to get use to (mostly the cymbals) but you will get use to it quickly and the toms actually have a nice feel and rebound more like a real set or practice pad. As for drawbacks, I would just say it would be nice to have an additional cymbal and the TD-07 module is limited for the price but the set overall truly delivers where it matters most with the noise level.
